Does you ego let your way go off the track?

I observe that many a good relationship is spoiled because of the ego, the one thinks why should i, the other too thinks the same, no matter however close and thick the relationship is, if this exist inbetween any sort of relationship for sure the fruit or the essence of the relationship is spoiled overall. We should move without ego coming into our way of maintaining a healthy relationship. Its the feel that i'm independent and why should i go low in front of others that dominates even when we move with a close relationship, once this has been substituted by the value of the person's presence and the realtionship is more valuable than our ego things are in smooth pace. Ego is not at all a necessary item in any close relationship. It does no good to the relationship. Rather it makes us become artificial with everyone, we can be sincere and true to anyone with this ego. What's your opinion? pls do share your views
