why are we so concerned about honesty?

I'm wondering if you are being honest about wondering why ppl are concerned about honesty. At 35 yrs. old you must have had someone lie to you at some point. How did it feel when you found out the truth? Were you ever able to really trust that person again? We are taught to be honest because a liar is neither a good friend or a good person. To be trusted by family and friends is a great honor. A person who is not honest will not be trusted by anyone.

In the simplest way honesty means thinking, telling, or doing in the correct or true ways which are generally accepted by our society. To be honest means heading towards the right and positive direction and vice versa. So it’s definitely clear that to be dishonest could make everything upside down. Therefore we can say that honesty is the main criteria in the codes of ethics.

because to lie is to hurt and to deceive is to sin. and besides, if we lie and lie and lie, we pretend and pretend and pretend, that doesnt make us who we are. i mean, it doesnt show who we really are. do you like pretending? no i dont. its hard to pretend. and another thing, telling the truth helps us understand each other. we understand each other therefore we live in harmony. to lie is to create trouble and we dont want that. ^__^

Our teachers in grade school taught us that honesty is the best policy. We want people around us to be honest to have a smooth relationship. People quarelled as well as relationship broke if one lied and is not honest. i think no better qualities can topple a honest person.
