For the first time I used a car shampoo for cleaning my car and noticed that it was causing patches on my car. Then I discontinued using any car shampoo and only use plain water from a jet to wash my car. How do you wash you car and how often?

Hello ranjeet. Car washing is one of the loathsome work I detested. I normally bring my car to the shop for a complete bath. I have been doing this for years and never encountered any problem. There is no specific schedule when to bring my car for washing. It depends on how my car looks like really.

I don't wash my car. We are not allowed to. This is due to water restrictions. We are on level 4 restrictions, & this prohibits the use of washing cars. If I did wash my car I would use car shampoo.

My husband use car shampoo and plain water. The car look shiny and clean enough. He use it for 2 years and seem okay to me. He will clean his car for 2 hours! Imagine how he clean the car! LOL.

I use a little bit of dishwashing soap in a bucket of water. I usually use "Dawn". It is a good one to use to cut down on grease. Try it sometime.

Hello ranjeetkolarkar, I wash my car twice a week. If it rains, I wash it more often. I seldom wash the car by myself. I will send the car to a car wash. If I ever happen to wash it by myself, normally I will use a car shampoo *smile*

Since I bought my new car a couple of weeks ago, I am able to get my car washed for free for thirty days. I am taking advantage of the free car washes right now and using a soft touch place so my car will not get scratched up. I tried washing my car myself with some soap but that was not very effective so probably using plain water is best.

I do not wash my van. When it rains then it gets washed. I don't think my van has met up with soap. Not a fussy lady and then van usually does not look bad. Rains often enough. Not sure why soap which makes water wetter would leave a scratch. Confusing to me.

I use car wash- from the company I work for. Fuller Brush- and a great car washing mitt—so it leaves no streaks, marks, or spots- We wash the car every other week at home- and run it through the car wash at least once a week- I live in the country and our roads are dusty!

I have not washed my car in over a year, but when I did I used to use shampoo on it, to get that sparkle and the car looks great with its shine.

I usually use some mild dish soap and water to wash the car. After i am done washing the car i will rinse the soap off with some plain water with no soap into it. I dont wash it that often unless it is like now pollen season and u get that yellow stuff all over the car then i wash it fairly often.

Although my hubby takes care of cleaning of our car. He use to wash the car with car shampoo first then he also uses the car wax for the shining of car. I am really impressed always by my hubby for the way he use to take complete care of the car!!!!!

Whenever we don't have time to wash the car, we go to carwash centers where they use car shampoo & wax. So far the shine is maintained and didn't experience any patches yet. We also have Wash & Wax car shampoo in our house so that if we have time to wash we can wash the cars ourselves. It's more cheap than to have it wash all the time.

I use the foaming brush and then rinse it most of t he time. Some car washes offer a spot free rinse. I wash my car as often as it needs it. It just depends on the weather and the kind of roads I've traveled on.

I wash my car once a week, and I am using shampoo but I wash the one half, and then the other half, and make sure I rinse it off properly so there is no soap residue left. If the shampoo gets left to dry, then it will leave marks, but a good polish should take care of the marks. It is also important not to wash your car while it is standing in the sun, that will contribute to the problem.

We are pretty lazy when it come to washing our car. Maybe once or three times in a year (oeps) when it need to go to the car garage for yearly check up. We dod use the normaal shampoo for our hair and bucket of water and that works just perfect, better than car shampoo.
