A Week straight from the angry gods!

To all my friends here, especially those who pm me all the time trying to find out what happened to me. I had a week straight from hell! We had weather here that in the 23 years in this town, I have NEVER seen before. It started with rain and a wind that wanted to wipe us out! The wind was so strong it broke the sate-light poll and it came tumbling down on our skylight and smashed it into million little peaces, I thought it was the top story roof that was going skyward. End result I landed up with no computer and a TV room drenched with water, because of the broken skylight. We tried to close the skylight with a tarpaulin but to no avail the wind was just too strong. Then we had to remove all the furniture out the TV room, and we waited for people to come and fix the darn thing, which felt like days! Now it is almost back to normal, and I am try to catch up as quickly as I can.
Once again thank you for your concern, it really pulled on my heart strings! Love you all too bits!

What a mess!! We have had lots of wind and rain around here, too, but no incidents that compare to yours. It is a real mess I am sure. I guess I thought you might be on a holiday or something. It sounds like the aftermath of a flood, only coming in from the tip. I am trusting that you have sufficient insurance to deal with this type of a mess. It is so inconvenient and really disrupts the flow of you life. We are glad you are safe and can be back online now.

A mess is an understatement! lol! I have never moved furniture so quickly in my entire life! The problem is we were dumb strucked because we have never experienced anything like it, it is very unusual weather for us, we were scared silly! Yes we have insurance thank heavens, but you know them, there will be an investigation of note!

Thank goodness you and your family are ok. Storms don't pick and choose who they pick on do they? At least no one was hurt when the skylight broke. Sorry to hear about all of your damage but at least you are back online now.
It is dark and thundering and lightning here right now. It woke me up at 4 something this morning doing that and raining really hard. More on the way right now. Last week we had a bad one come through and a couple of blocks over from us a house got struck with lightning and caught on fire. Kids were home and noticed the smoke coming from upstairs and got out of the house.
Be safe and dry.

I was sitting behind the computer, when it happened and I thought OMG it is Armageddon! The whole pole came down and then it started rattling and all the water came through the sky light, we ran around like a 'hoender met 'n af kop'
But all I could think of was to get the pole back so I could go on line. Needless to say my husband almost had a fit! He was glad it happened in a way because I spend the whole evening with him watching the Diana concert! We tuned in a bit late, because we had to move everything out, and he didn't want to watch it in the bedroom.

Oh dear looks like you and me both..My Beloved got ran over off his bike and I fell down the loft, my butt and arms are still aching badly and I am surprised I can sit and do some Mylotting lol. I am glad things are getting better for you. The weather here is pretty crap too, with rain storms we think we are in Florida or something ready for a hurricane!! It doesn't feel like July lol. The main thing is that we are here, still alive and Mylotting!! I send you a big hug and we can tend to each other's wounds lol.Take care of yourself and I hope this week will bring better things for all of us.

I'm sure it will. I want to tell you what happened to my husband about a month ago. He went outside to to fetch some paperwork that one of his workers dropped off at our house. Roundabout 15 minutes later he came back and was walking funny, I asked him what is wrong and he turned around, his jeans were soaking wet. (it was raining and the stairs were wet and slippery)I asked him if he had wee-weed in his pants! He said no he just fell flat on his azz and skidded down the stairs! 14 of them! I asked him my lord couldn't you have tried to stop your fall by grabbing the rails! He said no because he started going forward and tried to correct by swinging his arms, he swayed them so wildly, that his feet went straight under him, and off he went! Bumpedee bumpedeee!
It was so funny, the guy that was at the end of the stairs thought Joep was going to bump into him, so he turned around and started running away! hie hie I laughed for weeks! Shame he broke his Coxix, and are still battling to sit down! His bum was blue for weeks, he looked like those apes with the blue bum's!

I was wondering where you were. I thought about you several times over the weekend. Then I thought...well, she and Joe probably decided to stay in bed a few days...nothing wrong with that. Boy, I couldn't be farther from the truth. The rain and winds can be so destructive. The house my mother and I lived in..our home... had been in flooding in over the years. Little by little it damaged the foundation....really bad. We came back from being away for a while to care for my grandmother, we found a condemned notice on the door. We were not even susposed to go in to get our stuff. However, we did. The house was actually slanted. I am so glad you are fine, but sorry for all the trouble you have seen.

Don't feel ashamed. We are all attached to our computers because they keep us in touch with the people we care about.

What a unexpected storm in you place!
I live in the good place which has no wind at all or just tail of it because of the mountains around my town, but it was very warm, it can make the skin darker just one hour under the the sun.
Most Europeans like to visit my country as Laos for their skin changing and more adventure.

Thanks suscan I appreciate it. But at times it was quite funny, I walked around in that part of the house with an umbrella, and I was whining around my husbands ears like a naughty child, because I couldn't go online! He said to me "God women do you realize you've got a hole in your roof, and you are worried about MyLot!" He nearly had a fit! hie hie!

Oh my! Sounds terrible. I'm glad things are better. We have been going through a semi drought here. Some area of the U.S. are having floods and part of it is having a drought. This has really been a crazy weather year all over the world.

I'm so sorry to hear that you went through such an ordeal. The weather can be mean at times. The blessing is you survived the storm. Even though your material things are in disarray now, things will get better. We are in our hurricane season here in Florida and I hope the good Lord shows favor on us when the storms come.
Take care my friend and I'm glad you're alright.

I'm praying this hurricane season isn't a bad one. I've lived in Florida all my life and I've been truly blessed not to be harmed by the hurricanes. If it gets too bad, we are warned to evacuate before the storm hits. I'm having surgery in a few weeks and I pray there will be no hurricane during that time.

Thanks for your concern jerryn, thankfully we acted quickly and there were no serious damage except the skylight, and the mess! But we were indeed lucky to come out of it so lightly. I always see on the news the terrible hurricanes in Florida. I pray this year it won't be too bad.

I think the angry gods think we're idiots and are shaking us up a bit. It's been pretty stormy in my neck of the woods also. The drought has broken, or for the time being anyway, now there are floods instead.
Glad you are alright though Annie. Make sure you have good storm insurance, I think we haven't seen the last of mother nature's fury.

Spot on tetchie! We have never seen wind like this before, and we are a summer rain fall area, we hardly get any rain in winter, and it is bitterly cold, my husband had to go and buy a heater! In my 24 years in this town this is a first for me. The day before, the temperature was a nice 24C and it dropped overnight to 11C which for Richards Bay is unheard of! The insurance is another story, they will find some way to try and discredit us. I think they are going to say the pole was corroded, or that it was too close to the skylight, will have to wait and see.
