is walking!! He started taking a few steps at 9 mths. old and he just turned 10 mths on the 20th of June and is all over the place walking from room to room. He can stand up without any furniture to help him.
The Dr. said he is an advanced baby because he was able to pull up to furniture, sit, & crawl all by 6 mths old.
Most of my kids did walk at 10 mths old. How old were your babies when they walked?

Thanks! He is already climbing the stairs! We have to keep doors closed and gates up as we have several sets of stairs in our house. They grow too fast, wish they would stay babies!

Congratulations! You must be SO happy and proud. Mine didn't walk till he was 13 months. That frustrated him a lot cos' he wanted to go places and do things and couldn't get to it quick enough or quite reach it by just crawling. So, he would scream every time I put him down somewhere. Now that he can walk and run, I often have to go chase him down!!

Reminds me of that commercial where the mom put her baby on the floor standing and he would cry, but if she picked him up he would stop. I am in the chasing mode too, we keep doors closed and gates up as we have several stairs in our house. Thanks!

My daughter was about the same.
She was taking 1 step then a couple at a time around 8 1/2 months & by 9 months she was all over the place.
She said Mum at 5 - 5 1/2 months - we though it was just a fluke but she kept at it!
Crawling at 6 months but on her hands & feet - she never used her knees much, she didn't sit up on her own until maybe 7 months or around that time, but she was doing really well.
She's 13 months old now & running around like a maniac, it's hard to keep up.

Wait til the terrible 2's kicks in...lol I also have a 2 yr. old so I stay pretty busy with the baby walking now. My baby will still crawl at times, but he does both hands, one knee, and one foot. Kinda funny looking, but he is very fast! Thanks!

Congratulations!! That would make you so proud!! You are probably giving him excellent care and that is why he is an advanced baby!! My daughter started walking when she was 11 months old. My son, who is 10 months now has been trying to walk without any support for over a month now, but he has still not perfected it. When he does it without holding on to anything, he gets so excited that he falls on his butt :) That is the best thing I like about it. lol..

congrats on your baby walking. that is the neatest feeling when they start taking those first steps on their own. We thought our first would walk early, she started walking along stuff at 10 months, but she held out till a little after her 1st birthday. Our second was born with hip displasia and spend the first 8 months of her life in various braces and casts to fix it. So we thought she would walk late. She figured out how to crawl in it and even pull up on stuff. She got it off at around 9 months and started walking right around her first birthday just like her sister. We're expecting our son in 2 weeks or less, i'm wondering if he'll show up his sisters or not lol.

That is so cute. I don't have any babies but I think my baby sister walking when she was 8 months i think. I love to see babies start walking because it's so cute to see them learn new things like that. Good luck with you adorable baby.
