Tonight I had my Husband go and take a x Large Garbage bag to a Second hand store when he came home and told me there were several people going through the bags, What do you think about this? I think that its rude and disrespectful and I cannot image the mess they must leave . I think that they should try to find another way of collecting the goods.

i seen the same..people will set things out for the needy and some people make a living out of going through this and also people's trash..
some charities are picky about what they take...
it takes all kinds of people in this world...but I agree...it is rude and disrespectful..
my wife is from the Philippines and she told me that the stuff that is collected in the US is sometimes SOLD to the people in the Philippines not given to them..some charity? also her neice was a cute little girl and she and her family were doing OK but they used her as a poster child for HELP THIS CHILD

Aah that isn't good is it? they should be waiting until the store is open and they are displayed for sale. Hmmm not good at all!

The town I use to live in made it a city ordinance that you can't just drop donations off at the door because people were ripping open the bags and things. There was always a big mess on the sidewalk. To be able to drop of donations the thrift store had to be open. I believe this was the best solution to the problem. I don't mind if a someone goes through the stuff but I don't think that they should make a mess all over the sidewalk with it.

Yes they could wait until it's in the store as they have reduced prices on it. I have a neighbor who dumpster dives......yuck!! In our area we are lucky that we have the Eplipsy foundation. They let you know what day they are coming and you tag it with their tag....leave it on your curb and it's gone by the time you get home from work. I think their system works....I bet they collect alot more by picking it up then depending on others to bring it to them.

Wow, how rude eh? Did he say anything to them? It's like your trying to do a good thing for others and then people like that? To me that is so very rude.
