Basically I dislike old movies, especially the movies before 1990. I like to watch updated movies. The technology is better and the film cost is higher. Therefore the result should be better. There is only one exception. I enjoy the old movie of Rome Holiday. It's a nice black and white movie. The actor is pretty handsome and the actress is so beautiful in this movie.

You don't know what you're missing. You are missing out on thousands of classic films because you call them "old".

A few of my favourite "old" movies are Apocolypse Now, The Godfather, Psycho, Rear Window...they're all old, but great movies none the less.

Not really lol.. because old movies are sometimes in black and white. I prefer color. Also, somehow everything just looks old. Even if the actors/actresses look young, they still look old.

I really like Romad Holiday, with Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. I also enjoy lots of other "oldies", like Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Breakfast at Tiffany's, any Marx Bros. movie, West Side Story, African Queen, etc. etc. etc.

Some of my favourite movies are older movies, though I'm not really into the black and white ones. I don't know that a films budget is the best reason for a movie to be good, I'd rather a good storyline. I've seen plenty of later movies lacking that!

Sometimes I am attracted to the big budget of the movie. And I think it must deserve to see it. However, it always lets me down.

Well as you say, you would expect a masterpiece, some of the money that is spent making a movie nowadays!

I guess after watching movies of today, with all the cool special effects, computer generated animation, old movies wont really appeal to us, unless it has a really captivating storyline.

The new movies always have good technology effects, and old movies can't compare to it. But it seems that the new movies don't have a very good storyline. If it can improve it, then it'll be better. I watch lots of new movies, but few of them left me deep impression.

I like the older movies. My favorite movie is "It's a Wonderful Life" and its from the 1940 era. Jimmy Stewart is probably my favorite actor.

for me that depends. i like old movies from China, about anti-japan wars,i guess i was influenced by my father,he watched those films with me when i was very young,so now when i watch those films,i remember a lot of things. but foreign films,i do like new ones.i don't quite like those black and white films, maybe it is because i dont understand their culture of the old time, and the language.

Unfortunately today's most high budget Chinese movies are not good. It always lets me down. The humorous movies are fine.

I like to watch old movies very much. You are right, the technology was not there in the early days but I enjoy the fact that they had to rely on others things to keep the movie interesting...... things like acting, good lighting, cinematography, etc.

I watch old movies as long as it's not black and white. There are many old movies that has a good story that's why many filmmakers go for remakes rather than fresh stories.

You are right. In fact the same movie will be made again after every 10 or 20 years.

I actually do love some old movies - besides the plots I love the glamourous outfits and just the fact that they are set in another time and place that are foreign to me.

yeah. i like some old movies. i think most of updated movies are not worthy of being watched. they don't express merit of the contemporary era. some directors just think higher cost of the film means more successfully. i'm disgusted at it. so i seldom see the movies now.
