We love to go camping! We camp about 30 min. away from home which is perfect when you have little ones. We rough camp and sleep in tents.

that sounds great :) We didn't get to camp this year with me being so pregnant, but we'd like to go alot next year. His parents own a membership to a campground about 30 min from our house so we can camp there for free.

Yes, I have. I've been to a camping site when I was studying at the university. It was a motivational camp and I was taught how to be brave. They sent me into the woods and left our group there from midnight until 4:00 a.m. It was terrifying to be left alone, but after it was all over all of us felt a new courage in ourselves. The camp helped us build our self-confidence too.

I hace been on many trips going camping.
First as a kid with all the other kids in huge tents, just like the ones the military uses.
Then in a tiny tent, then in a bigger tent and then I owned a VW mobile home that took me every where in Europe.
The mobile home had many comforts and was heated, too, so I could go on vacation in the colder season, too.
It all was a lot of fun, I would do it any time again!

My first experiance camping was when i was 11 years old. I joined the scout camping trip. Before i give my name into the list, i ask my mother permission and she said I can do my own decision; so i give my name into the list. But when the day came, my mother scold me for joining the camping trip; she beat me, yeild at me, saying bad thing on me and curse me. So, i almost cancelled my plan but my mother then in anger insist that i should go as i already give my name; she don't want my teacher ask her later why i didn't go for the camping trip.
So, with tears in my eye i went of; the camping took 3 days 2 nights only and held in the school field actually so not so dangerous for my age. I've been named as The Best Partipant and won myself a Parker pen. But when i reach home, the situation not as happier as i hope and feel during the camping trip.
There she was, my mother waiting for me with fierce face; and as i was expected, once again I been beaten. I didn't show her the pen that i won; I know it wouldn't do any good. Since then, I never joined any camping trip anymore as i don't want to be beaten by my mother again; but she still beat me up till I was 18. Guess not a happy camping experiance to tell, huh?

I hadnt been camping until this summer..i know...almost 27 and never been camping. We went and bought a tent and an air mattress and all that good stuff. We had fun, but i couldnt breathe through my nose at night! All the camp fires around us messed with my sinuses big time. We camped by the lake, like almost right on the water. It was neat.

I've only gone camping a couple of times in my life, though I would like to do it again, this time with my husband and kids. We just bought a 6 person (or is it more than this?) tent for Father's Day and currently have it pitched in our backyard. Motorhomes are nice, but I think it's kind of cheating in a way when it comes to camping out in the wilderness, don't you think? :P LOL

We started off with using a tent, then we upgraded to a tent camper. We then a few years later, uprgraded again to a slide on camper that went on the back of our truck. A couples years after that we bought a motor home but we didn't like that because it didn't feel too much like camping anymore. So we sold it and now we use the slide on camper and sometimes we just take a tent. I like the tent on weekends that the forecast is good, and if it's going to rain then we like to take the camper. Or when we go camping for a week we take the camper.
