Today is my 11th anniversary. Wow! That seems like a long time. In light of the divorce statistics, I seems like forever. Marriage is hard work. It takes a conscious decision each day to love your spouse. It also takes following the examples of the Greatest Love of All. And as my mother (who has been married to my father for 43 years) likes to say, at this point divorce would take too long to divide the sock drawer.
How long have you been married? Do you think you are "over the hump"? We seem to have settled into a comfortable rhythm now and are in it for the long haul.
You can read my reflections on why my marriage has been successul at www.lifeasachristianwoman.com.

congratulations on your wedding anniversary! I think that is wonderful! I have not been so lucky in love, my first few years. I married at 19, divorced at 26. Married again at 29 divorced at 33. I am now remarried to my first husband who was also my first love and we are doing fantastic! I think I have learned many things from my parents marriage. they have been married for 36 years and going strong. I have only been married since April of this year and he is now on deployment, but we contact each other and talk and email, write letters, keep journals for each other and do all that we can to communicate as a couple. Take care and I hope you have many more happy years together!
