Best gift received.

I just received the best gift from my husband, the best part of it was he gave it to me just because. He went to a friends house to burn a cd for me. He was able to find all the songs that I love and put them on one cd. He came home and played it for me and was able to tell me where we were and what we were doing when I told him how much I liked each song. I brought me to tears, to realize he found each one of those moments special. What is the best gift you have received from someone you love?

Well lucky you! My husband doesn't have a romantic bone in his body. One year I spent a whole year writing in a journal about us and the things we did that day and how I felt about him at the time, etc. On the opposite pages I put quotes from songs, poems and scripture. I gave it to him for an anniversary present. I thought he would think it was corny. I was really surprised that he read the whole book and really liked it. A lot of people questioned our relationship. Some people think I trapped him, or I tracked him down, etc. So I would have to say that the best gift he gave me was at our wedding reception when he got up to make his speech. The very first thing he said was, "I love you, Pat." It's hard enough getting him to say that to me on a regular basis, but for him to actually say that into a microphone in front of 200 people was the nicest gift he ever gave me. He stood up for me and proved to everyone that he loved me and that he married me because he wanted to. He also stood up for me against his best friend (which sure as heck stunned his best friend) after his wife got into an argument with me when I was about six months pregnant. My husband told his friend that his wife had no right to come at me like that. Another precious gift. I guess it is all in how you perceive things. A bouqet of flowers for no reason is nice, but sticking up for me is the best gift he has ever given me.

Thank you for your wishes. I receive a newsletter from www.theromantic.com. There are all sorts of ideas on that website on things to do for special occasions (or no occasion), especially with little or no money. Check it out. That's where I got my journal idea from.

That is wonderful what your husband did for you, those actions are more important than any material thing he could have given you. The journal you gave to your husband was great. Wish I could think of things like that to do. I usually by him clothe, colonge, and watches. Wishing you a long and loving life together.

What happened to You was just wonderful. From my husband I just receive money to buy things I like, I can't remember the last time he gave me a special gift, or maybe a gift he choosed himself. It's always up to me to choose my own gift, which is very unpleaseant.

I know what you mean. I give my husband a Christmas list for his gift shopping. I hate having to do that. But when it comes to birthdays and anniversaries, sometimes he surprises me with something special that I really wasn't expecting. That's a special gift too.

Like you I usually do have to buy my gift or go to the store with him and the kids and pick it out. That is why this gift was so special to me.

There are so many...I think it was when we first got married and we didn't have a car. It was Mothers day and Ed walked 6 miles to go to town and back to bring me a pretty long stemed yellow rose and a card.
