BBQ's....Charcoal or gas grill?

When you BBQ with your friends and family, what type of grill do you like your food to be cooked on? Charcoal or gas? Do you taste the difference of the food that is cooked on a charcoal vs gas grill. I think that the food is better cooked on charcoal grills because the food tends to have a "smoky" flavor to it. I think the only downside of charcoal is that it gets over your hands and seems to be messy. What do you think? I would like to hear from you.

Electric Grill isn't included?
I'd choose the charcoal over the gas. Charcoal gives you the 'charred smoky' flavor. Actually these depend on the type of charcoal you use. We use the special type where it doesn't smoke very much, plus no burned look, plus it's not messy.
