My father in law desperately needs everyone's thoughts and prayers with him. His daughter found him today in the living room of his house. He had fallen off the couch, and was unconscious. Come to find out he had gone into a diabetic coma. He hadn't felt good all weekend. Yesterday he left work early, and today he didn't even go to work at all. The ambulance took him to the local hospital where they finally got him somewhat stabilized. They had checked his blood sugar and it was up over 1100! He was then Life Flighted to a larger hospital about 35 miles away, where they are going to give him something to make him sleep for the night, and they are going to monitor his blood sugar levels. The doctors said he has some kind of internal infection and that's what is kicking his blood sugar up so high. Hopefully they will find out soon what is causing the infection, and get him straightened out. I am really scared right now, because this same kind of thing is what caused him to have a major heart attack a few years ago. My friends, even if you don't pray, would you please keep my father in law in your thoughts? And for those that do pray, please ask God to help him get better. I would very much appreciate it. Big hugs and love to everyone. If I am not on much the next couple of days, you'll know why.

So very sorry to hear about your father-in-law. I just sent up a prayer for him to get well and to give his doctors the wisdom to figure out what is causing his blood sugar to spike so high. You and your family are in my prayers, Kat. Be well, my friend.

Thank you so much hon. I've been falling apart since I posted this. But hubby has been reassuring me that his dad will be ok. I think every thing had a delayed reaction with me, because this all happened around 4 or 5 this afternoon, and the Life Flight copter didn't take off until around 6:30. I so appreciate your friendship and your prayers. Love and lots of hugs to you hon.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family...I am sure your father-in-law will be fine...but he really needs to take care of himself and monitor his health from now on...maybe this is where you and your family could step in and encourage him to take care of himself to be around for you all....good luck.

Prayer goes out to you and your fatherinlaw. Sorry to hear that. At least you found him. He needs to be somewhere where he can be monitor. Because if he is having those he needs to be with someone and not by himself. I had the same feeling when my grandma went into the diabetic coma. But they told my dad and her sister that it was time to put him in a nursing home.

I will definitely keep your father in law in my prayers. I'd also suggest that you call the following prayer line: 800-600-7395. Press 1 for English then press 2 for the prayer line. They are wonderful prayer warriors and I think it will help you a lot.

Bless you so much hon for sharing that with me. I will definitely call it. I called my friend, since I don't have our church directory yet, and she called one of the long time church members and they have started a prayer chain for him. Again, thank you so much hon. You are a wonderful friend.

I love you too hon. And I really appreciate your prayers and encouragement. Dad is getting better. His blood sugar has dropped. He's still fighting the infection and the docs haven't found what is causing it yet, but they are taking very good care of him. Thanks so much hon.
