I have had two counselors say that I am very convincing. While I would love to take that as a compliment, my mind keeps saying, not so fast. Con artist and criminal lawyers are both convincing and to me cons are scum and most lawyers are snakes. Can you help me think of any positive occupation where the person is considered convincing, that may be my niche.

Why not be convincing to yourself? If there is something you are really interested in, why not convince yourself to do it. Come up with a plan and convince yourself it can work. Follow through with your plans, adjusting them as you need to. Always be positive and convince yourself that if you keep going, you will be successful. Only you know where your true talents and interests lie.

No, what I was asking is, what would be a good field for someone to go into that is very convincing. I have a lot of new career ideas, I want to find the one that suits my talents the best.

Hmmmm, let's see here. Teachers have to be convincing in a way. You have to be able to convince the kids the value of education and convince them to want to learn. You said you like to write. Writers have to be convincing at times, depending on what you would be writing. Hair stylists have to be convincing...trust me on that one. I used to have to talk people out of some pretty bad choices.:P Counselors themselves have to be convincing. After talking to you here, I actually think you would probably make a great counselor. You seem to be caring and a good listener and you have strong ideas and opinions. Being a convincing person doesn't have to be negative, you're too positive to think that way.:)

Thank you so much for all of the compliments. I am just stuck in an emotional rut right now and I would like to be able to focus on going back to school, but there is so many other things to be considered first. I live right across the street from a community college. It is a very good college, in fact, the governer of California graduated from there. I guess that right now i lack the motivatiion to do anything really productive. I don't know, I'll figure it all out at some point.

I know how you feel. I'm in between careers right now and I have been thinking of going back to school, but for what??? I just don't know. I would have to take night classes and I really don't care for that. I live near a community college too and I just need a kick in the pants to get motivated is all. I have so much going on in my life right now. I also need financial aid and I missed the deadline I think. Bummer...no school without funding for me.

Now you have spoken to two people who have had the same feature of being very convincing. The counsellors you spoke to. They were very good in getting you convinced that you are convincing. That's a career that you can look at, ain't it? OK now let's see, you are very convincing, you write(as I saw on a response that was posted), you are an introvert(as one of your discussions state). When we put 2 and 2 together we get to the stage where you need to look at something that let's you to be to yourself and get noticed at the same time. That is a cliche but I think if you persue a career in writing all your qualities will stand and speak for them selves. You need to be very convincing in you work if you want people to read your work. You need to write, and based on the subject you need a lot of time by yourself to put your thoughts downin black and white. You need to have a thought first to start your work and as I can see from your discussions, you can find some that not many people think about. And I've read your discussions and responses so I can say that you are very good with words. So think about it. This might just be the time for you to get that notebook that you were longing to for a long time, find the best documenting software and put in the first word in it. CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!AND ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, you guys know to much. I think that in about 6 months if someone were to read all my post, they would know my whole life story. Thank you for the things that you said. I believe that God gave me a talent for writing, but the field is so broard, I don't know exactly where he wants me to be. I guess that is why I do post like this. To try and get a clue.

Who about sales. Not the used sales man type but sales of products that work and you believe in. Something like double pane window, avon, or health products to hospitals. Some of these items might be hard because of you not driving, I hope you get the idea. I am trying to think of something positive for you. I think sales where the customer comes to you in the showroom.

You are absolutely right, salespeople have to be convincing. But sadly, I couldn't sale water to a fish on land. I went to an interview once and the lady said, okay, sale me this cup. I stumble and fumble, and nearly froze.

Just consider what you really want to be and go on being your convincing self and you well succeed in life.convince yourself that you will ultimately succeed.Doctors are convincing and so are nurses too.Judges are convincing and teachers are convincing all if they are really into what they are doing.
