Tetras. They are fresh water fish from South
America. About double the size of your average
goldfish. They have long flowing fins. They have
a dark appearance but shimmer all sorts of colors.
The only problem is you have to be careful which
sexes you have of what type of Tetra. They will
kill each other if you don't know what to get.

Here's the family of Tetra I like.
It's called a Phantom Tetra.

That's funny, they nibble on your fingers.
Tetras are small fish. Like i said a little
bigger than a goldfish. Maybe about the size
of your thumb.
Do you mean that the fish you are talking
about are even smaller than that. Wow.

yah, I'm familiar with tetras. I don't like big fishes. I prefer medium sized fishes like the one I posted above. ^__^ I like some koi though, those with orange to red prints on their body. and kois are fun to feed, and when you dip your fingers to the water, they would go to you and nibble on your fingers, it tickles. ^__^;;

betta is fighting fish right? their fins are gorgeous also! its very long and its nice to look at. but you can only put one in one aquarium since it bullies other fish and fights with them. ^__^;; I'd like an aquarium with lots of different fishes, colorful fishes. that ould be really grand. ^__^

yes they are fighting fish. you cannot have 2 males in the same tank without them killing each other. very territorial among their own species. and even though they are "fighting fish" they should not be in a tank with aggressive fish..their fins become easy targets and are rather delicate. so they will end up appearing shredded looking..which just isnt pretty lol.

I also like Betta's, I knew a woman who had a pet store and she sold them. They come in all kinds of colors and have beautiful fins like the goldfish. So if I were to have an aquarium would have a few beta's. I really don't know about them being a fighting fish though.

I like to watch these beautiful aquarium fish.but I do not want to have them in my house. cos feeding these fish means a lot of work. we have to clean the tank, to contrl the temperature of the water, to change the water from time to time. so I quit the idea of feeding these fish.

if you're putting up a sort of high-tech aquarium like with filters and all that, it would lessen the work. like you only have to change the water at least twice a month. and then feeding is as easy as putting fish feeds once a day. ^__^

well actually, I too had heard that it is illegal to have a piranha, though I have seen some at an aquarium holding a special license for it.
And ya, it does bite and is scary-but i guess that makes it special, as something so small may be more dangerous than a shark or a whale.
Cheers

I didn't know there are special licenses for piranha. here in our country they arrest people who has piranha inside their homes.
you could still lose a finger by a piranha even if its small. ^.^;;

I like puffer fish. They are really cute. You can add some tetras in it too. I am not sure about puffer fish but I heard that they are quite fierce. You have to be careful when you mix fishes in a tank in case they fight or bully one another. Check it out with the staff maybe they can help you.

i think puffer fish is not safe to be placed in an aquarium. they are quite poisonous! but there are natives here who eat puffer fish and they said they just have to be careful in cleaning, gutting and preparing the fish to remove the toxins. even so, i wouldnt dare eat something like that! ^.^

I like all types of fish though I do not know the names of all of them. I would put a variety of fish in an aquarium but only the ones that would get along well with each other. From what my neighbor told me, not all fish get along with other fish so I would have to research or ask which ones would get along well in a fish tank. No Piranhas though for me. :-)

yep. not all fish get along together well. for instance, a flower horn fights any fish that it comes in contact with inside its aquarium. that's why a flower horn is always alone. just recently (we have a flower horn here at the office) it tried to bite me when i put my fingers on the water! ^.^ even inside an aquarium it tries to bite anyone who get nears it, i dont know if it hurts itself if it bumps on the glass. fighting fish is also a solitary fish meaning it cant be join with other fish.
no piranhas too for me! ~.~
