how do i get my dog to stop yappin?

she barks when people come to the house (i don't think shes scared though, just excited..) & she barks when we take her for a walk, if she spots other people & other dogs. i've heard that you can say teach them the word "enough." ( you try get her attention & when she stops barking & looks at you you say "enough" & give her a treat) but i tried this and she just starts again! i'm also scared that if i teach her to stop when i say "enough" then she'll just bark to get treats...argh! my other dog doesn't do this, she's a bit smarter and easier to train..help!

Dogs are active especially when they're young and they are curious about something. If you're wondering what you can do to stop her from yapping, you can just actually look them in the eye and show them that you want them to stop. Train them to do this and they'll know how to react in future instances. As for me, I can only yell my dog's name or just hug them to pacify the that everything will be alright. They also sometimes become active if they are scared or if they are surprised. I love my dog so much and I train her as much as possible on my free time.

thanks! i love my dogs soo much, it was easy to train the first one (she is half poodle & so a bit smarter than the other) i have a hard time telling the other one to sit never mind anything else..so i guess it will just take a while & i have to be pesistent with her

i am huge animal lover as your are, i used to keep a doggy back home in melb but unfortunately i got no chance to keep one up here in china.
just be patient when train your lovely her and I agree with dirtbag's response, also try to seek advice from a vet if available.
