I'm not an English speaker, so I must study to get more opportunities in future. However, I think studying language is an hard work. There are too many kinds of English such as British English, American English, Indian English, South Earth Asia English, and so on. While English have many vocabulary with different meaning, or various sound in speaking. Do you think English is dificult? Do you have any ways to improve English?

HI! I am Reina, a freelance English tutor. I have been in this kind of work for 2 years.
Your question is very interesting. My work has brought so many wonderful students who eventually became my friends. I came to see how they have improved and yes, it happens... the opposite.
To answer your question, I think it always starts with the student's determination. I had a high beginner Korean student. It was a little bit stressful but we continued. Unfortunately, she had to go back to her country. After 3 months, she came back and continued with her study. I was really surprise at her improvement. She told me, while she was away, she memorised 5 English words daily and kept a small notebook of important English words and statements which she studied and kept dearly till she came back. She also made it a point to listen to CNN everyday.
We are working on her grammar skills. I must tell you that most of the basic lessons were self initated
. Sometimes, my role is just a facilitator, directing her on same vague points and others.
To further improve her skills, we text each other in English (real time messages hehehe) and I text her back should I see any mistake.
Our next target is her intonation. I am really optimistic as I see in her the determination to elevate her level in this language. Studying together did not only made me find a good sudent (who inspires me as a teacher) but also a good friend. I really hopesee her as a flight attendant in that airline she wishes to join-the reason why she is studying seriously.
My point is simple, you may afford the best teacher if you lack the drive, you may go to any expensive English speaking country but forget the real purpose of your visit (that is to learn the language)...
Nothing is impossible. English is English wherever you are, despite its peculiarities.^-^
Thanks for posting that. Good luck!

Of course I will help you in my ability. Can you tell me where do you study? I also found that English class really boring with teachers who cannot attract students. However, I think your English is good. If you are not exciting in English class, you can watch film by English, listen to music or just join MyLot and discuss with everyone by English. I think by this way you can find out English is an exciting language! Contact me if you need some helps!

from your post you are doing very well already. at least for the written word part. i would suggest getting a couple of books on tape. that way you can actually hear the common pronunciation.

Im also a non English speaker but i can speak to anyone talking to me in English. English is by far more easy than French that's for sure but i do manage to speak fluently both of them. Reading and watching English tv shows will enrich your vocabulary and improve your English.
