I know there are many diffrent people who come on this site and as a result many diffrent cultchers. In the UK you are pritty much seen as an adult from the age of 18. but is this really old enough. I know when your young all you want to do is grow up and live life, but are you really living life, I sort of wish I was still only 16,17 as this was the best period of my child hood but I think I grew up to fast.
Now I don't want to spark contrvese here but from the age of 14 I was drinking in local pubs and clubs and I thought I was the big man. but now as a father I want my kids to stay young and inocent for as long as possible.
so when are you seen as an adult? 16,18,21?

In Sweden you are legally an adult at 18, but I personally think that you can't consider yourself a "real" adult until you can take care of yourself. For example, do your own washing, cooking, be responsible and pay your bills.

Yes, I know what you mean. A friend of mine didn't know how to do his own laundry at the age of 26, while others I know have been self-sufficient since they where 17.
I guess it has a lot to do with maturity as well.
