As a teenager I loved knitting - then I went away to college, had kids, and then got out of the habit. Ive just rediscovered it, but cant seem to find any stockists of good quality yarn or wool to knit with, here in the UK.
Im getting fed up of the cheap stuff that seems to be everywhere - it just doesnt seem worth the effort of knitting with it, when I know that it wont wash or wear well.
Does anyone know any stockists, either in the UK, or online that I can buy from?

It's an american based company but have you tried:
www.knitpicks.com
I often buy my yarn from them and have been really happy with the quality...as well as really happy with the prices. The ones that I have used the most are "Wool of the Andes" and "Shadow" which is good for lace work if you have the patience.
Maybe give thier site a look and see how you feel. I hope this was a help.
Happy knitting.

KnitPicks.com has good yarn at better prices. Every thing I have bought from them has been top quality and at much better prices then others. Someone told me they type in "discount yarn" and they get yarn that way cheap. I havn't gotton any that way but she gets all of hers that way. They are very pretty.

You've probalby received lots of repsonses, so I hope I don't double up on any of them. I just discovered knitpicks.com and bought some of their products. The wool is so soft and enjoyable to work with and the prices aren't bad either. I'm loosing my main source of fiber (wool that I buy as roving and spin myself), so I will probably be buying more of this stuff online too. Good luck with your knitting.
