Schools - Detentions or out of school premises???

Have you ever heard of a private school that sends their students out of the school premises literally to reprimand them or for disciplinary actions?? And not to mention those students are grade school students. They were sent out from school premises because they forgot their IDs.Do you think this is the right way to discipline them? Security wise, do you think this is proper?
