It never fails when the weather gets hot we are always finding dogs locked in cars. The windows cracked to the width of a finger nail and a poor dog panting. I can understand that people lover their animals so much that they want to get them out of the house and let them hang their heads out the window, tongues blowing in the air but why, why, why do this when you are going to a certain place that you know you are going to have to leave them in the car! As defenseless(sp) as an animal is you may as well leave your child in the car. I do not have any animals and would like to understand this concept of leaving animals in the car on hot days. Is this somthing you do? And if you do, why?

It should be the same for pets as it is for children. Children aren't allowed to be left in hot cars alone and neither should pets. I'm not saying pets are humans or should they be treated that way but they can die from the heat. That isn't right and it should be illegal.

I have not a pet. I think if a person do this he is not a pet lover.

If I ever leave my pets in the car I have the windows rolled down all the way even if the vehicle is parked in the shade. I have pet birds, no dogs. I keep the birds in a carrier (they are small birds so they have plenty of room in a big carrier). Birds are very sensitive to heat and they need lots of water. I hardly leave them in the car, it is just not a good idea.
