Nina Hoffman is one of my favorite authors. She writes very interesting stories about realistic characters that happen to have magical abilities and/or get themselves into unique situations. My favorite of hers is, _Fistful of Sky_.
She also recently wrote a science fiction novel called _Catalyst_ which is written like a young adult story, yet has some fairly mature content.
I'm interested in talking to other people who have read her work. I'd especially like suggestions on other books or authors who use similar themes.
Thanks, and happy reading!

I have never heard of this author. That Catalyst book sounds interesting just from the title...we atlked about catalysts in my chemistry class so I wonder if it's an indirect reference to that lol.

A loose reference to the idea. Although in this case the catalyst is definitely not left unchanged.
The only problem with this book is that is is too short! The story ends right when it seems like it could really take off.
I hope she revisits the storyline in future books.
Here are some other titles by this author to look for if you want to read some good books:
The Thread that Binds the Bones
The Silent Strength of Stones
A Stir of Bones
Red Heart of Memories
Past the Size of Dreaming
The last three are a series...which might have a title or two I've forgotten. The first two are related to each other without actually being a series, along with Fistful of Sky, and one of her latest called _Spirits that Walk in Shadow_. They interconnect, but don't actually have to be read in order.
