I think it is wise to focus less on "Bible Thumping" than other more substantive interactions with people around you.
How will you be viewed by others after your passing? What earthly deeds or misdeeds will you best be remembered for? Truthfully answering these questions may just give you the biggest clue to your fate or for some of you the way to change your destiny by changing how you currently "play with others". And yes I sense the sarcasm in your question and I am choosing not to let you get away with it.!

Why is it that atheists spend so much of their time, effort,
and energy trying to take a cheap shot at people of faith?
This question as most sarcastic swipes go, completely lacks imagination or originality.
Why do you paint us all with the same brush stroke and assume only the worst of all of us. Are you looking for someone to convert you? Not all of us are out to save your soul by Bible Thumping. I have found that atheists on mylot are more likely to quote the Bible to prove their point than religious people.. Why do you know so much about something you claim you have no use for?

If you really do not get it I will lay it out for you again!!
This is not a sincere question it is a swipe, an insult and a sarcastic comment disguised as a question. Come on you have been apart of the cheap shot brigade you should know this kind of thing when you see it.

Hence the term sarcasm which is often used to make others question what is really the intent. This question is intended to be insulting and he is just less direct than some of the pot shots you have taken. So I guess kudos to you for being honest in your previous but angry comments about people of faith. I am not insulted as you can see by my original response. I just wish if he wanted to have a discussion he would be more direct and respectful. That is all my comment meant. I am puzzled by your response though.
Since you were once so involved in religious life ..do you now believe that you are cured and can look down at people of faith? I understand why you think this is funny, again sarcasm will do that.

No, I don't think so. Being a bible thumper doesn't guarantee that you will get in to heaven. Someone can be a bible thumper but his life style, action and heart don't reflect what Jesus taught.

Whether or not you get into heaven is a private matter between you and your Creator. You may as well ask 'do I have to be a fanatic and commit an act of terrorism to get into heaven'.
The answer in both cases is 'Of course not!' (I think I would give a Bible thumper the better chance, though).

There is only one rule one must adhere to in order to enter heaven, the belief Jesus was the son of God and the Savior. As for the rest, no it's not a must to enter heaven. Just sometimes the politics get wrapped up in it all and that’s where the thumping comes in at.

No not at all. In fact, you just might end up pushing more people away than you can convert if you thump at them.

No, you just hae to be a good person, doing good things for the world. All you need to do is treat your neighbour and everyone else the way you want to be treated, and you will get into heaven. I think supposed bible-thumpers try too hard.
