I just had my first selling disaster on ebay... I sold a car (which is not a cheap item to sell). The buyer only contacted me after I contacte him A WEEK after it sold. He said that he couldnt make it in the next couple of days could I wait..I said fair enough...A week later when I contacted him, he replied that he couldnt afford it ????. I said that would have been nice to know that to begin with, why bid on it ??. Anyway He has left negative feedback on my profile - he has ruined my 100% positive feedback. I checked out his profile and he has brought a whole heap of stuff....Why do people do this..Someone else has missed out on the chance to buy this car, what an a$$hole. Just frustrated !!!!

Sorry to hear that. My 100% got ruined on a pokemon card I bought for my brother. If it helps I don't think a 99% hurts your ability to sell things, I have sold plenty things since then. You can also report this buyer as a non paying buyer this hurts his ebay record and could get his account suspended so he doesn't do it to anyone else. If anyone else bid on it, you can offer it to them as a second chance offer. Good Luck.

Its been just over 2 weeks since auctions end so I just relisted it with restrictions on buyers. I have also reported him...he called me a liar in the feedback ??????? I just wrote look at my perfect feedback, I have no need to lie....So hopefully potential buyers will read this.

Hello.calais,i do not know why did that buyer even left you a negative feedback, you had nothing wrong,it was only his fault.
Hopefully you will be able to sell your car, have you posted your advertsing somewhere else like carsales.com,etc?
Good luck.

The feedback thing on ebay has it's advantages in one way but when it comes to wrecking a perfect positive vibe it does so by some fool, I had an account awhile back and some twit did this to me, so I just didn't bother with ebay in the end.
but now I'm back at ebay setting up my empire and feedback ain't everything, you can build up your rep back to positive feedback later!!

I had someone leave a negative feedback for me, because he didn't get his item as quickly as he thought he should have. I mailed it on time...but the post office was delayed. I have the receipts to prove it. Just report him to E-bay. They might keep him from purchasing again.

That is one of the dangers of ebay. I have been lucky so far with ebay and have never really had a bad experience. I can see how this experience would frustrate you however. Nothing is worse than selling something and then having someone back out. Then to put a negative feedback on you is just wrong.
cheers,

why do people waste our time?

I used to work for a company that told us that some people are pros and make themselves quite a living in this manner.

I hope you left him/her such a negitive feedback they will want to take theirs back. You can also report them to eBay. Don't forget to file for your sellers fee back since they were a deadbeat bidder.

Sadly there are a lot of people like him in this world. People take a delight in stuffing up other people. They are particulary notorious on big items like cars.
I suggest that you contact eBay and tell them the whole story. They will also refund you the commission they charged you on the sale.
How can he leaves negative feedback after not purchasing the car? This does not sound right. The item should not appear in your profile if it has not been sold.
If you had multiple buyers... you can also contact the second highest bidder who did miss out.

I have reported him and applied for a refund. He bidded on it and went through checkout, so he could leave feedback...I am totally annoyed because I had the decency to wait a couple of weeks for him...Its been 3 weeks now, so I just relisted it with restricted buyers, I thought that maybe the second bidder would have brought something by now.

Hi Calais. First of all, respond to the negative he left you with a calm and factual follow up and then start a non paying bidder dispute. Don't worry about your 100% feedback, people will see from your follow up that your buyer was in the wrong, it's only a little red dot after all and most eBayers look beyond those. Make sure you start the dispute and don't close it until eBay has done their investigation. After that you can always offer the car to the second highest bidder, and don't forget to neg him too.

It is really bad on that so called buyer's part. He has no business to ruin your deal. My sympathies are with you.
Anyway, this has added to your experience, so you please 'beware' next time you go for selling your car.

sorry that you had such a lousy experience, but i think you have to be really careful on ebay. i bought a ring from someone and i never got it, i paid, emailed, left negative feedback and they are still happily selling...so sadly on ebay its a two way street :-(

Oh Sweets I am so sorry that that numpty messed you around like that! I would contact ebay and let them know exactly what happened - they may take of his feedback - they did that for me when a scammer tried to buy my phone but I sussed them - they left terrible feedback for me and when I explained to ebay they removed the feedback and the scammer was banned! Good luck selling the car honey! xxx

Don't let this get by without filing a complaint against him with Ebay. Also, respond to his negative feedback under your own account so that other Ebayers can see that he is the one that is wrong and leave negative feedback for him as well.
You can appeal the feedback and have it removed, but he would have to mutually agree to this which he might do only after you have left him negative feedback.
I've been selling on Ebay for years and I have come across these kinds of people who are totally unscrupulous. At the very least, you should be able to recoup your listing fee for the car from Ebay by asking them to intervene. Good luck!

Oh I am sorry to hear that! What a mean person. But I think you can contact ebay staff and told them the whole incident and see if you could block him and retrieve the negative feedback! I knew a friend did that and he succeeded. You should try because it's not really fair to be ruined by one person. I never have had any luck with ebay and every time I try to sell something, it's not really successful *laughs* and now I just give up. I wish you good luck!

I am also a seller in Taobao. Taobao is similar with Ebay. Sometimes I also met bad buyers. Most of the I gave in. As my rate is low due to I didn't sell a lot yet. So I pay attention to it and try to avoid getting a negative rate.
I think your buyer is too bad. I never bid my products. I just have a fixed price there. If someone wants to buy it, then they pay for it and after that, I send out the product. I don't like bidding as it may create more problems.
Actually I am also a good buyer because I like buying online. I remember I bought a mini remote controlled toy car for my son. That quality isn't very good. I just told my seller to improve it, this time I would still give him good feedback but he should pay attention to the quality. As not many people are nice.
