At 4 it is perfectly normal for a child to be very active. They've just mastered so many new skills, running, jumping, climbing etc. They want to test both the limits of their bodies & the limits of their parents. It would probably help quite a bit to try channeling that energy into positive activities. I'd make sure he had lots of time to play outside, regular trips to the playground & perhaps look for a gymnastics, swimming or other active class for him.

My first born son was/is very hyperactive and was even before he was born. After he was born he didn't sleep like most babies did and as he got older it seemed to get a lot worse. He was later diagnosed with ADHD. I was a very young, first time mother and felt I needed help. So, I turned to Children Services and they did me wonders! I was able to get into free parenting classes and I learned so much and it helped both me and my child considerably. And I was able to use the skills I learned with the next five children.

Children nowadays are hyperactive. Maybe because of the milk or food that they take.If you think your son has ADHD CHECK IT OUT. Visit your doctor. Kids with ADHD are not bad, stupid, or lazy. They have a disorder that means they may have problems paying attention.
