Yes, Philippines has the most number of dialects that any other countries in the world. We have more than 30 dialects. We have two official languages: Filipino and English. But most provinces and towns have their own dialects. In Mindanao, we have almost 10 different dialects. I came from Surigao del sur, a small province south of Mindanao which has 4 different dialects including the minority groups. I spoke "kamayo" a dialect same that of "Mandaya"from Davao Oriental but with slight accents and terms. Our dialect, according to local folks, was once a part of the dialect spoken by "Manobo" tribe in the hinterlands of Surigao del sur, but has since enhanced my inter marriages of different tribes. I can fluently speak Leytenio and Boholano too since my maternal grandparents came from Bohol and Leyte. Now that I am spending most of the time in Davao City where I worked, I am using a Visayan dialect, but differs that of Cebu"s dialect.
