On all the sites I belong to it talks about getting referrals by handing out flyers or business cards. Has anyone done this? Has anyone gotten any active referrals by posting flyers? Is it worth my time and money? And if yes, what are the best places to post these signs? thanks.

Hi,
I agree that trying to get referrals, especially active ones, is not easy.
You could consider inserting small leaflets into relevant books or magazines in book stores. Being directed to the correct audience, it would work better.
Another method could be to consider programs that help you to get referrals. Due to the low percentage of getting active referrals. it may not be advisble to buy referrals.
You may want to try Getref which allows you to get referrals for FREE.

The idea of the bookstore is not bad, but is it legal? Would I get in trouble from the book store?
I'm already apart of getref, thank you. And those referrals are just as bad. They just want the credit so they can get referrals for themselves. I've had at least 3 sign up for my programs and all are inactive.

You could ask the book store owner first. I don't think that they'll mind since it does not damage their books or anything like thta.

Nicole,
I signed to be apart of this company that helped people get mortgages. It was in my field of work anyway. And the way to get business was to send out flyers and business cards. They made you flyers, which you could copy and you could purchase business cards. I had flyers at every gas station, laundry mat, private business that would accept them in the states of Mississippi, Florida and Texas AND NOT ONE RESPONSE. So I don't have much faith in it.
