Who should pay for the damaged racket?

As some of you already know, i broken a racket monthes ago when I played it with a guy in the club, and the racket broken when I hit it on his racket. So I have to buy a new one. My friend broken his racket last week, in the similar case, but as I can sew, it was the fault of his partner. Under such case, who should response for the lost of racket. The racket is around 80 dollar. Generally, or from your experience, what will you do in such case? will you ask for part of the fee for your racket or just think it is you unlucky day and get a new one by yourself?
