i would say edwin van de sar but rio and vidic can also be considered. if rio given the captaincy (as a stand-in) i think he will be rock solid as it can be seen that as time, he lacks concentration. if fergie appoint rio, it will be in his head that he can't screw up his performance and affect his team.

I think if Gary is not back, the best one who will places Gary as a captain is Van de sar. He is the talented gol keeper. MU have many players to be in that position... It not much effected to MU team so far.

Gary Neville injury is not so bad. and he played the last game of the season though he was just back from an injury at that time. so he is probably fit now. and i raring to go once the new season starts. in case Neville gets injured i think giggs should lead the team as he did last season as he is respected inside and outside the locker room by all player. so he'll make a good captain. and even after so many years he plays with the same passion he used to play earlier.
