My baby is 9 months old, and she wants several bottles of formula a night...

Nine months old isn't very old. The bottle habit is just that, a habit. Decrease the amounts of bottles you give the baby in the evening. Never put a baby to bed with a bottle with anything in that bottle other than water. Juice and milk will cause tooth rot. Then you have another problem. Try a pacifier. If that doesn't work, try one of the nipples from the bottle that the baby is used to. Fill that nipple with a bit of cotton (from pill bottle), so it won't collapse. Tape off the cotton so the baby isn't sucking air. I know this sounds weird, but it worked for me. Good Luck

To help my baby sleep thru the night, I tried to keep her up as much as possible during the day. let her crawl around, play with her, sit her up, take her for a walk. I tried not to let her take more than 2 naps during the day. Now that she is 19 months, if she had not already taken her nap before 6pm, I will try to keep her up as long as possible, so that she can sleep during the night. Try getting her on a time schedule: maybe a nap after breakfast, then a nap after lunch. It works for me.
