starting a small business

i want to start a small business but i cannot do it because i am confined to an office working 8 hours a day. my job as a private employee requires so much of my time hence i cannot start the business that i want. how i wish i can start my own business. im not talking about big ones that requires a large capital. what i have in mind is just small but earns continually.
