Have you ever resorted to begging?

I hate to admit it but I was begging for bidders on the ebay blog this morning. I am still begging for bidders. I have not had a sale in over a month. My daughter's 17th birthday is in 9 days and if I can't manage to sell something she will have nothing for her birthday. I don't have two pennies to rub together let alone money for a card, present or anything else.
Have you ever been this desperate?

I have been that desperate, so don't feel alone out there. I was so desperate for money to pay off debts some years ago, that I posted an auction on ebay begging people to paypal me $1, and send me an email with their troubles and I would pray for them everyday for a month. Nobody responded, and I was beyond desperate. Unfortunately, not many people are willing to help out when people are down. Yet here I sit today, typing this response to you. So hang in there. I know times are tough, but they will get better. Good luck to you!

the blogs took a strange twist yesterday. Someone made a rude comment to me about that post and hurt my feelings. Then when I posted that my feelings had been hurt tons of members stood up to defend me. It really raised my spirits. Yesterday I had two bids too!! So things are looking up. I know if we can just get some sales this month we will be ok. I had had a big bust of a local sale here at my house and nothing sold well only 3 people stopped by. that is what started the spiral of my emotions downward.

I have never had to do that, but for alot of my son's equipment, I feel like I have to every time we need something. It makes me so embarrassed. He has CP and cannot walk.

During one really bad financial time for me and my husband, I begged my brother-in-law for help. I was desparate to find some way to feed my baby. He was a serious lactose intolerance and had to have soy formula for the first 6 months of his life. As luck would have it, he couldn't stomach the soy formula supplied by WIC. We had to buy the soy fromula made by Similac at $14 a can. A can would only last about 4 days. So I called my BIL and told him our situation.
Once we paid the rent, the utilities and insurance, there wasnt any money left to buy anything else for my son. I begged him for help. He went to Sam's Club and bought us 5 HUGE cans of formula, 3 HUGE boxes of diapers, baby wipes and bottle liners. He showed up at my house with 5 boxes of stuff for the baby and even food for us. I wasn't worried about myself going hungry, I was desparate for my child. I had to let go of all my pride, but that is what we do as parents. I was ready to beg, borrow or steal to feed my baby. I even considered moving in with my mother. Thankfully, through the grace of God, things turned around for us. Keep your hope alive. It will get better.
