People are, in fact, getting more rude. People nowadays tend to be less patient, they get angry really easy, and it's not rare to see someone yelling at the other. Perhaps the main cause of this is Television, or maybe the stress people pass through everyday. Anyway, we should know how to control ourselves and receive some education classes, teaching us how to say "Please", "Thank You", "Excuse Me" and how to wait patiently.
In my neighbourhood, most are elder people. They are very polite and educated, and I treat them with respect. However, there are some younger people here who doesn't seem to be so polite.

its really funny how the younger generation dont really respect their elders. they talk back and swear and such. sometimes you just miss the good old days.

I wish that I could just tell you that was the case, but in fact I actually agree with you. I think it's combination of people just not being taught manners with the combination of how fast some people are living their lives. I mean, a quick story, I held the door open for a lady when I was getting off the train and walking into the station and she was so surprised, she said "thanks" like it was the first time someone had done that for her today. And the sad part is I believe that it was the first time it happened to her in a while by her reaction. Unfortunately, it's just the way it is nowadays.
