Poor Little Kitties!!!

Four Kittens were found in a trash bin behind a Petco in San Diego, California. They were rescued and put into foster care. It is obvious that the owners cared about these kittens. They could have put them in any trash bin, but the fact that they put them in a trash behind Petco tells me that they wanted someone who cares about animals to find them. It is sad when this kind of thing happens to the little animals. One day I was walking home and saw a homeless man trying to tend to some abandoned kittens. I could not take them all, because I was living with my sister and her husband and in this case, one was pushing it. But they let him stay. This is just another reason for cats and dogs to be spayed and neutered. It is not fair for these animals to suffer because the owners did not want or could not take care of the animals. http://www.knbc.com/news/13627442/detail.html?subid=10101581

I hate hearing about animals being abused and abandoned. At least those kittens were found, many animals are not that lucky. You know what I would love to do one day? I would like to open a shelter for dogs and cats that are abused and neglected. I doubt that will ever happen due to money, but I would like to be able to take care of mistreated animals. I'd end up wanting to keep them all though!

I envy people who are able to do this kind of work, however, because of my past abuse, I am not able to do this kind of work. When I hear of children and animals being abused, I get all kind of physical symptoms and I am ready to fight. My throat gets tight and I can't breathe. I get so angry that I am exhausted before I can ever do anything to help. That kind of anxiety is really bad for your health, so I try to avoid situations that evoke that much emotion.

It is very good that you are there for your sister. That is exactly what she needs, someone who will be there, whether they really understand or not.

I'm so sorry to hear that, but I understand. I can't handle hearing about children and animals being abused, especially the children part, since I have worked in daycare. My father, if you can really call him that, was mentally abusive. I'm sorry to hear that you also have an abusive background. I came out of it luckier than my sister though. My sister has a lot more problems than I do. She is suffering from depression right now and she's only 14. I'm fiercely protective of her too.

I beg to differ on your opinion that some "cared for the cats". Yes, they could have chosen any trash can but its still a trash can. No one who actually cares for animals would EVER FOR ANY REASON throw away cats. There are so many shelters that take animals dropped off with no expectation of you paying to drop them off. No one cared about those animals, they left them there to die.

There is no good reason why someone does something cruel. It is a lack of goodness in them.

You guys are taking away the little bit of hope that I have in human decency. There has got to be a good reason why someone would do something so cruel. Animals are so helpless, like children, they have to depend on peoples kindness to survive, why can't people feel this in their hearts?

Even if they put them in a trash bin behind Petco doesn't show at all that they care about these kittens. Sorry, I am very vocal on this kind of stuff. If they cared about the kittens, they would have called the animal shelter , a local rescue place or dropped them off at a safe place and not inside of a trash bin no matter where that trash was located. The guy should sit in jail for a while. What a jerk he was.

I totally agree with you. My thinking was that maybe he put them there to be sure that someone who actually cares about animals would find them. You know about the commercials that say, people who really care about their pets, go to Petco. I just have to believe that this world is not nearly as evil as it appears to be.

i have, about 7 cats, but my husband dont allow them to come in the house, they have their place outside, we have a baby girl. they are all stray cats, i dont know, cats love to come to our house, we give them food , then they never leave,... i agree with you that they should be spayed/neutered, i dont like them to multiply, i might not be able to care for them if they're so many. i ask a vet how much will it cost, and i'm shock, in dollar its equivalent to 70 dollars for each cat. we dont have that much money,.. you're lucky you live in a place where there is a law against maltreatment of pets,... here cats and dogs are eaten by others!

Yes, I know that it is like that where you are from. I looked at your profile. Dogs and cats are cute and I love them dearly. I personally would never, ever want to eat one. I don't even eat rabit. But I can understand that some countries don't see them the way that we do and I don't have a problem with them eating dog and cat meat.

I don't understand why anyone who cares for animals would want to put them in the trash bin. There so any other things they could do. I know that we sat infront of our Wal-mart and gat away pupies twice. Now all our animals are spayed and neutered. Animal shelters are always taking in animals that people don't want.

I know what you mean, I just try to make sense out of senseless situations. There hast to be a logical explanation as to why someone would do something so stupid.

There are so many options. There is no excuse for being evil.

That is so sad, at least they were all okay. We have a female cat and she was fixed last year. I feel bad to a degree that she never got jto experience motherhood, but by the same token, I am glad that we had her fixed and are helping to keep the kitty population at a minimal. There are more than enough cats to populate the earth, our Callie didn't need to help.

Yes, it will be a bitter pill for a lot of people to swallow, because they do not want to do this to their animals. But in the long run, they will realize that it is the best solution. It is better that they don't have them, then if they do and they are abused.

Poor kitties. I am glad they found somewhere for them to go, but I don't think they should pass a spade/nuetor law. That should be up to the individual pet owners. Hopefully, they will do the responsible thing as I have and get their pets fixed, but I don't think the government should make us get our pets fixed.

That is the problem, the owners are not doing the right thing by these pets and that is why the situation is out of control. Unfortunately, this hast to be done.

I agree with ESPECIALLY cats need to be spayed or neutered. I kinda cant see the owners caring about the kittens though, they put them in the trash, what if they had been put in the garbage truck and compacted thats a terrible thought, if they cared they should have put them in a box and dropped them off at the humane society where they would be spayed or neutered and offered to a great home. The younger the better chance they have.

I know what you mean. Maybe they did not care, but I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Kittens are so cute, it seems like it would be too hard to do something like that.

This story is so heartbreaking. I have made other posts here about how many stray cats and dogs have ended up at our house over the years. We have taken it upon ourselves to try and spay and neuter as many as we can each year. Even though we try, there are too many people that do not care and let there animals go unspayed etc and still this sad injustice goes on and on. I am so happy to meet people who do care and do what they can.
