As I was going through some of my friends discussions, I noticed that many are very old like five months and no ones replies to them. The topics are very interesting so I will reply to them if I notice that their discussions interesting.
However, I got the feeling that we don't reply to old discussions. So, if you all could answer some of these questions:
Do you reply to old discussions?, Would you reply to an old discussion if you were interested in the topic?, Have you seen many old discussions on here?
I am very curious, so if you have any thoughts, I would love to read them.

I do reply to old discussions, if they interest me or I have a response to them.

Most of them are about life in general, some advice, some health, disabilities,tv. There are alot more, just anything that catches my attention.

Cool, I believe my favorite discussions are in the life and people sections, too. Oh, I didn't realize there was a disabilities section as well :).

I'm pretty new here, and I've noticed that most of the discussions that I've found by searching for topics that really interest me are quite old (weeks, months even), and I've been trying to figure out myself whether or not it is polite to respond to old discussions here. Personally, I've responded to a couple so far, that hadn't had any responses at all, I think if the users are still around it would be helpful to them, however if a discussion has been pretty much 'played out' with lots of responses already, unless I have anything really enlightening to add, I probably would not respond.

Yea, it is prefectly fine to respond to old discussions. In fact, there are some good discussions that don't get many replies. Why do you think it is rude?
Basically if you can answer the question they are asking I think it would be interesting.

I have seen many old discussions with and without responses. Most of the discussions I have encountered are with responses.
I do respond to such discussions if the topic is interesting. I have responded to many such discussions. You can see them in "discussions i've responded to" if you reall wish to see.

Cool, I am not sure why people don't do that more often. Perhaps we should set a better example for others by answering order questions.

I've been randomly typing in search terms for find various discussions that are about topics I'm interested in. As a result, I find many discussions with no responses. I am not put off by this. If I have something to say, I'll respond. And I don't care how old these are either. I've responded to several that were 3 or more months old.

That's very nice of you. I bet there are a lot of people who wish they got replies to their discussion, but then all of sudden no one replied to the discussion. Thanks for your input.

Hi there Pablo !
Well this is a bit ironic, me responding to your 4 years old discussion now :) at least you already had 5 responses already, but still, as i am checking all my friends manually, one by one, for topics that i can answer, i stumbled over this one on your account.
I have done this a few times, and at one point i had 0 friends with no response topics, as the ones that they had, i answered to my best knowledge.
I will try to accomplish this once more, in case the case arises.
Cheers mate !

Old discussions like this one?
Yes, I do reply to old discussions as long as their topic interests me.
At first I was hesitant because answering to old discussions seems to be walking to an empty room. Everyone had participated and there is no one there anymore. But based on feedback by the veterans here about responding to old discussions, I learned that no discussion would be too old to participate. And so I started participating to old discussions. What is nice is some of the discussion starters still comment back to their responses. To me that is so cool!
