How do you start the relationship with your current girlfriend or wife?

Hi everyone here! I just curious how you got to know your current girlfriend or wife and start the relationship with each other. For me, my girlfriend and I are both Chinese and we both came to Singapore for studying, and then we got to know about each other because both of us are from the same district in China. After that we together rent a flat with some other friends and become housemate, and we got to know each other little by little and finally we fell in love with each other. Now we have been together for more than two years and live a very happy life. How about you guys, please share with us your experience!
