Any adopted in the Family, or are you adopted?

the only adopted ones in the family are pets. How do you treat adopted kids, like you have no kids, or you have no brothers and sisters and your parents adopted one, do you treat them as your real brothers and sisters by blood. Or if you found out you are adopted, how do you handle having a life with the family who adopt you, do you thank them because they take care of you even if you are not their real family.

I have an adopted brother. It was never a secret to him that he was adopted, and he was ok with it... as far as he was concerned, we are his family! Family isn't just about genetics, its about you being there for one another every day. He is treated just the same as any of us... same rules, same everything... he IS our brother (I couldn't think of him any differently).
He was curious about his blood-family too of course, and he has made contact with them. They are nice people and he is sort of like "new" family to them too.
