As far as health goes, eating meat is definitely better for you. I mean we WERE made to eat meat and our bodies are able to process it effectively. Also, meats contain certain proteins that our bodies can't produce on their own and that are important to our well-being. If vegetarians are careful and take the proper vitamins, then not eating meat could be okay. As far as religion goes, I'd say go ahead and eat meat. That's what God put animals here for (well other than having them as awesome pets).

I am a vegetarian for spiritual reasons. And health ones. The spiritual reasons are because of my understanding that all life is precious, and even if we think certain kinds of life is inferior to humans, our responsibility is to protect, not to exploit. There is also the karma thing..violence begets violence. We wonder why there is so much violence in the world today. What goes around comes around. Also a balanced vegetarian diet is for the most part a healthier diet for the human being. It's just more gental to our insides, and to our consciousness.

It was heartning to hear from a kind and sensible soul like you. Such thoughts are becoming rarer every day in this world. People killing animals, people killing people, Oh God give all of us the good sense to understand these simple truths. My dear Makena 1968, a big thank you to you.

I think the vegetable and the fruits are good and better to our health and body. It have a lot more protein and energy that our body need.

Relegion teaches us to be kind. But killing someone for food and taste when we can easily and comfortably survive on fruits, vegetables, cereals, milk, honey etc is NOT KINDNESS. Thats why being vegetarian is being kind and therefore being religious -- by standards of all religions. NO religion teaches us to kill animals for food.
