From the videos that I've seen and what I have read, I think its amazing and an excellent alternative to M$haft Windoze.
I would use it but I don't have the time to learn Linux. I would if I could.
Look up Beryl aswell. It puts Vista to shame.
And it's free. I think there is another version called Kubuntu floating about aswell.

Ubuntu is very userfriendly than any Linux distributions.
You can download it from http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download or request free cd's from https://shipit.ubuntu.com/ at no cost whereever in the world.
with this cd u can directly boot from full OS from the CD for cross it is supported by your hardware.
