I'm sorry, but that statistic just cannot be right.
It's clearly an exaggeration by someone who still equates faith with ignorance. Being a religious person who actually understands molecules to some level as well as DNA-- I know that those of my Ward and Stake all know about the solar system orbits. And I'm not in that big a city...
Hell, with the popularity of such farces as CSI and Law and Order, you can't tell me with a straight face that that many people have such a small clue.
It's too over the top to be anything other than extreme leftist propaganda trying to combat what they feel is extreme right propaganda.

I will concede that most Americans are unaware of political and geographic facts...as described in the film, but the text is too over the top.
