I have been reading different topics here on Mylot about sharing things with your husband/wife or other and I guess im a little confused about some of the answeres people are giving about why they keep things from each other, such as pay check stubs, access to websites we visit, chat sessions with friends, hidden past lives, and telling little lies to each other.
Im wondering why you all cant be honest with your partner why do you need to hide things, what is it about your relationship that you feel you cant trust your mate.

I totally agree with you. It is disturbing that people hide things and lie to their partners. This could be a big reason for the huge percentage of divorces. I know this is happening in my brothers marriage and I really feel for him.

It is human nature for us to have a secret. Be it from friends, family, or our spouses. I don't tell my wife all about my A.A. friends and activities with them. Nothing special and nothing wrong as far as me being married etc. It's just a part of my life that's shared with them only. My wife doesn't need to know everything. She has friends and I don't question where or what she does with them. She offers the info sometimes but not always. That's her secret with me. Just what I feel. I hide nothing from her and she hides nothing frokm me. If either asked the other about this I am sure she'd trell me and I would tell her. But it's something we keep seperate of our lives together at times. I don't ask how much money she has or has earned in tips etc. She doesn't ask me about web sites I visit. She doesn't ask about the people on here etc. Though I share this info without her asking. So I guess in a way I don't hide anything from my wife.
