The easy of getting rid of the fear phobia getting used to it. If you fear something then try to face and then you will see that you will not need to go to specialist for getting this done.

are you referring to phobia? i am claustrophobia, it is a fear on closed areas. actually i do not recognize myself as having that, though a test and my symptoms when I am in closed areas points that I have that phobia. that is why I rarely, seldom, I think it's never that I went to a cave you know for nature tripping. I don't stay long in very small rooms or cubicles.

I have fear of creepy insects which I can't overcome. And also I can't stay in a room locked from outside( I don't mind if there is all the amenities and a balcony but not a room). I don't know how to overcome this also.

There are some professional way to overcome fears... Hope this will help guys... 1. Do you know why you are scared? It doesn't matter why you're scared. Knowing why you've developed a particular fear doesn't do much to help you overcome it, and it delays your progress in areas that will actually help you become less afraid. Stop trying to figure it out. 2. Learn about the thing you fear. Uncertainty is a huge component of fear: Developing an understanding of what you're afraid of goes a long way toward erasing that fear. 3. Train. If there's something you're afraid to try because it seems scary or difficult, start small and work in steps. Slowly building familiarity with a scary subject makes it more manageable. 4. Find someone who is not afraid. If there's something you're afraid of, find someone who is not afraid of that thing and spend time with that person. Take her along when you try to conquer your fear -- it'll be much easier. 5. Talk about it. Sharing your fear out loud can make it seem much less daunting. 6. Play mind games with yourself. If you're afraid of speaking in front of groups, it's probably because you think the audience is going to judge you. Try imagining the audience members naked -- being the only clothed person in the room puts you in the position of judgment. 7. Stop looking at the grand scheme. Think only about each successive step. If you're afraid of heights, don't think about being on the fortieth floor of a building. Just think about getting your foot in the lobby. 8. Seek help. Fear is not a simple emotion. If you're having trouble overcoming your fear on your own, find a professional to help you. There are lots of treatments for fear out there, and no good reason not to try them under the guidance of someone with training and experience.

I was afraid of standing height, that the problem still remains unresolved, I do not know how to overcome it, perhaps not necessary to overcome it.

I have fear of cockroaches.. never overcome it. Still afraid of those scuttling little devils.. Besides this, I don't think I have any other major phobias. Save perhaps, the occasional random thoughts about spirits, evil ones, when I'm alone or in a dark place. Talk about walking alone, at night, on an empty street with wild grasses on either side, no vehicles, and a cemetery nearby. Yeah now that's what I'm talking about.

The late U.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." We are not born with courage neither we are born with fear . S0ome of our fears are brought on by our own experiences, by what someone has told us, by what we've read in the papers. Fears, even the most basic ones, can totally destroy our ambitions, fortunes, relationships. Fear, if left unchecked, can destroy our lives. Fear is one of the many enemies lurking inside us. To overcome these fears, I think , we must face them. We must destroy our 'enemies' of indifference, doubt, worry. We have to build our courage to fight what's holding us back, what's keeping us from our goals and dreams. Let's be courageous in our life and in our pursuit of the things we want and the person we want to become.

Very well said. I do hope that we can all overcome our own fears. But there's one exception to that "Fear to God".

The only way to overcome an irrational fear (phobia) is to face it. If the fear is very strong and intereferes with the quality of life, the help of a therapist is advised. I have been a therapist for the past 30+ years. I have had a dentist phobia myself in my teens and by facing the fear head on in the dentist chair, I overcame it and it has never returned. :-) It needs to be remembered though that some fears are natural for our protection and it's not wise to desensitize one's self to these as they protect us. Even mountain climbers need to have a certain fear or they can take crazy risks.

Its normal for us teens having fear of the sharpness of the tools you used or the feeling when you're in the dentist chair. But, its good that you overcome it.

What you said is a problem that a lot of person have. the way I deal with it is not to think about it ,take it as a usuall thing, if you care very much about it you will have a lot of fear,if you don't care about it your life will be more comfortable, this is my view.;-)
