I have a popup camper. How do you clean the canvas? Mine looks like it really needs a good cleaning. I just don't want to damage it.

we used tilex mold cleaner to do ours. it had been sitting and needed a good cleaning. Canvas is pretty solid just watch out for your screens cause they start to crumble over time.

Oh my goodness! My brother-in-law was told by someone to use tilex, and guess what. His canvas is completely ruined! Tilex contains bleach, bleach eats the fabric. I suggest you rinse you camper with a vinegar solution and rinse, rinse, rinse.
We have a 2000 pop up and have had to clean it a couple of times. For everyday dirt, brush off as much dirt as you can, then wetting the fabric clean it with wool-lite, follow directions. Clean only a small section at a time and rinse it really well.
On mildew, our manufactuer advised us to use vinegar to kill the mildew. It won't harm the fabric or compromise your water proofer.
I hope your canvas isn't ruined!

I would try just hosing it down in your back yard. Then maybe get a brush of some sort and just scrub the parts that are really dirty. Maybe use a little bit of sunlight dish detergent. Sunlight dish detergent is very good for a lot of things, like washing windows, so I think it isn't as harsh as others. But before I try using anything on it I would search out canvas on the internet. you might find out some good products or ways to clean it. You might have to take it in somewhere to get cleaned. you may have to get it waterproofed again, after it is cleaned.

We have a new one so we have not had to do that yet, but I would recommend doing a search online for it specifically to find out what products to use. They have some stuff in walmart to clean awnings but I dont think they have the canvas cleaner there. I think you'd have to be careful on what you use though so as not to damage it or mess up the waterproof seal...by the way what type do you have?
