How do you deal with stress?

Are you the type of person who has a vice or two? When you get really stressed out do you get violent? Are you the type to shut off all feelings when you get stressed out? As for me, when I get really stressed out, I get either angry or upset. Sometimes I end up crying because I feel that I can do nothing right. How do you react?

I get very quiet. But I am also somewhat mean. I say mean things. That usually comes after a long time of holding it in, biting my tongue and pushing it down. I get to where I cannot sleep, or I want to sleep all of the time. It just varies. Sometimes I just come online and post. Sometimes I just sit in the recliner, and sit. I probably eat too much, as well. That is what the scales would tell me.

Holding it in is not the best choice either, because it always seems to get worse. Is there any way you can turn it around to be a positive thing? Maybe when you get stressed out you can go for a long walk and maybe that might make you feel better? Sometimes when I have a lot on my mind, I clean. It doesnt happen very often (I hate cleaning!) but once in a while.

When I get stressed I turn really snappy and mean. I normally have quite a hot temper, and when stress comes along I seem to get angry and irritated by the slightest thing. I never hit people, but I do tend to slam my hand down on the table and stuff like that. Then when I accidentally drop a spoon while setting the table or something like that, I start crying. It's extremely weird. :P

When I am feeling stressed I try to escape. There are those times when I am stuck somewhere; in a car, in a room with people, out in pulic, and really can't go anywhere. It is for those times that I carry a small CD player and a pair of headphones. If I can't physically escape, I try to do so mentally. When I have the opportunity to go home during a stressful time, I unqind by sitting infront of my computer and writing.
