Some of you may remember my discussion a few weeks ago about my daughter and her sleep problems. Well that weekend I decided to go ahead and get her a new bed. I found an excellent deal on a really nice toddler bed including the mattress for only $40. It's an all wooden bed with a really nice mattress. I can't believe the girl sold it to me for so cheap. Anyways my daughter loves it! She has been sleeping great since we got her that bed. Most nights she will sleep through the night. And the nights she doesn't she just gets up and wonders into bed with us. And when she's back to sleep I will put her back in her bed for the rest of the night.
I was orignally going to get her a twin bed since everyone keeps telling me toddler beds are a rip off and don't last long. But I couldn't turn down a $40 bed. And it will at least last until she's 4.
I just can't believe my little girl is growing up so fast. First she's in a big girl bed and now potty training. Where does the time go?

I agree, the time does go by fast. I'm glad you got such a deal on the bed, but I agree with everyone about the rip off part. I bought my baby (she's 13 now) a toddler bed and before I knew it, she had outgrown it. After her twin bed broke, I just went on and bought her a full size bed and got it over with. Besides, now I have an extra bed for guest after she moves out (sob!) It seems like yesterday that I was changing her diapers and feeding her baby food. And speaking of diapers, the potty training part was a lot easier than I expected it to be. I put her on the pot a couple of times and made her sit there until she peed just so she would know what it was for. Then, at the advice of others, I put her in regular panties during the day. She had one, yes one, accident before she started going to the pot.

We just ordered my son a toddler bed. It's supposed to get here Friday. I can't wait. He's been climbing out of his crib, so he definitely needs a big boy bed. We bought him a bed, table and chairs, and a toy bin that are all Elmo. We bought a comforter set for it last night. We heard the same thing about it being a waste of money, but I like how much closer to the floor it is just in case he falls out of bed. Plus it gives him more room to play in his small-ish room since the bed doesn't take up so much space.
We're just starting on potty training right now, too. We've been moving, so it's not going really great right now. He seems to forget where the bathroom is (we're not even completely moved yet, and we've only been back from my parents house for 4 days anyway). I'm hoping that once he gets completely used to the new house, things will go more smoothly.
