I still have a stuffed dog that I got from my aunt when I was born! He was a brown dog and so as a kid I named him Brownie. I loved that dog! Now he's missing a nose. He's been with me through so much...two major surgeries, traveling around the world, and moving to a few different states. Now he just sits in a closet. My 11 month old son has a monkey he loves. I wonder if he will still have it when he's older. My husband has a monkey he had when he was a kid too. It's name was FuFu! Share your stories here please!:)

I had a favorite pillow when I was young. It was bright red and I brought it with me wherever I went. The big problem was it was very filthy *LOL* people thought so because I'd nibble at it tips *LOL* I don't know why, but the feeling of it's tips being rubbed on my face when it becomes hard just makes me sleep. I can't sleep without that pillow. I called it "sulod kamot" that's in bisaya my local dialect. I don't know why I called it that but it means 'insert hand' literally. *LOL* Whew, this is humiliating. But after a long long while. My parents finally got rid of it. It was just any other day, when suddenly I felt it was gone. I woke up and they told me it was ripped and was being sewn back together by our maid. But then every time I asked for it, they'd say it wasn't finished yet. Until I slowly forgot. I saw that pillow a few years back. It was old and filthy but it was still intact. Now that I saw this post, I can't help but wonder where it is now. It would have been great if I had kept it, brings back childhood memories. By the way, my little brother also had his favorite toy. It was the first toy he 'stole' from me. *LOL* It was a fluffy teddy bear, my aunt gave that to me because we've not seen each other for a long time, and she thought I was still a little girl. When we met, she laughed because she didn't realize I was grown up. So I just kept that toy in the display area. When my little brother started crawling and standing up, no matter where we put him, he always manages to go to that display area to take the teddy bear out. Since then he proclaimed it his own. Until now, he has it with him. (funny thing though, everywhere we went, regardless what vacation spot, it was always with him). =)

Haha! Insert hand? That's so cute! Hey at least you had a nice place to rest your head if you brought it everywhere!! I can imagine your parents wanting to take it away because of filth! My son has a monkey that he adores. When he started crawling he wanted to bring his monkey with him wherever he crawled to...so he learned to shove the tail up his mouth so he could drag him along. It was cute but now the poor monkey is so gross! I have to wash him once or twice a week but two hours after the wash...stinky! Anyone who holds him while he's holding the monkey thinks he has a dirty diaper. I have to explain to them that it's just his monkey! haha!

Yeah. Isn't it cute how kids do that? It's just amazing how they could seem to love their toy (among others) so much. No matter how filthy, they love all the same. I remember my mother washing that pillow. I would really get angry because when it gets back to me, it just doesn't feel and smell the same. *LOL* Just remember to keep your kid's toy. It certainly would be fun to remember those days when we were inlove with that particular toy. Hahaha.. Thanks for the best response vote though. =) Here's a joke I want to share with you guys: Child's Perspective on Retirement A teacher asked her young pupils how they spent their vacation. One child wrote the following: "We always used to spend the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa. They used to live here in a big brick house, but Grandpa got retarded and they moved to Florida and now they live in a place with a lot of other retarded people. "They live in a tin box and have rocks painted green to look like grass. They ride around on big tricycles and wear nametags because they don't know who they are anymore. They go to a building called a wrecked center, but they must have got it fixed, because it is all right now. They play games and do exercises there, but they don't do them very well. There is a swimming pool, too, but they all jump up and down in it with their hats on. I guess they don't know how to swim. At their gate, there is a dollhouse with a little old man sitting in it. He watches all day so nobody can escape. Sometimes they sneak out. Then they go cruising in their golf carts. My Grandma used to bake cookies and stuff, but I guess she forgot how. Nobody there cooks, they just eat out. And they eat the same thing every night: Early Birds. Some of the people can't get past the man in the dollhouse to go out. So the ones who do get out bring food back to the wrecked center and call it potluck. My Grandma says Grandpa worked all his life to earn his retardment and says I should work hard so I can be retarded some day, too. When I earn my retardment I want to be the man in the doll house. Then I will let people out so they can visit their grandchildren." =)

I also have a stuffed dog! He's green and named IKEA after the tag in his ear. :D He's been with me through thick and thin, traveled all over the world and still sits in my bedroom to keep me company on lonely nights. My parents told me that he was the only toy I ever screamed for as a child, and to this day he's one of the few things I'd definitly try and save if there would be a fire.

That's so cute! I always likes stuffed dogs better than bears. Isn't it great how something so small can mean so much?

Hey robots are fun! Having things to remember your childhood is fun, especially when you have kids yourself! You can show them little pieces of who you were when you were little! :)
