Air ways or rail ways

Well yes summer is here and some people are really going out on vacations and stuff and they really go to abroad places just to beat the heat or to get tans or just for entertainment, ok so the question arises which way do you think would be better for traveling? by airplane or rail ways? For me when i travel to mountainous regions i prefer rail way so i can see how beautiful that region is and enjoy the beautiful scenery there, and when i go abroad or in a hurry journey i just use the air ways. So what about you? plz share your thoughts and tell that have you ever traveled in a train?
