Is it safe paying through the internet using your credit cards?

I want to purchase some products and they require me to pay using my credit cards. i have not tried it even once. Im afraid because i have heard that there are hackers who can hack your information. Is this true?

It's as safe as using your credit card at a store. If you are dealing with a reputable company, it will not be a problem. If you're buying things over the internet, you pretty much have to use a credit card. I have one card that I use only for online purchases, so, I can easily see if there are any purchases that I didn't make.
