Learning to Walk in High Heels

July 7, 2007 8:13am CST
I've heard that it is possible to 'learn' to walk in high heels. That there is a particular way of walking in them. I love to wear high heels, but find myself tottering around in anything over a ocuple of inches. Has anyone managed to master the 4 inch stilletos?

I've never worn 4-inch stilettos before. Whoa. Just thinking about it makes me shudder... lol! 3 inches is the highest I've gone. I feel like I've already reached the stratosphere or something. After an hour, my feet aches already. then I end up tottering as if I just started learning how to walk. Not so sexy. :) I've seen a couple of shows that says that when you walk on high heels, you should kind of lean back a little while you walk. I don't know, I think it distributes you weight more evenly and it'll hurt less. I've tried doing it, but i wasn't wearing high heels. My feet were aching then and walking that way lessened it. I bet it'll work on high heels too. :)

Its really difficult but you can if you practice. Try imagining yourself to be some kind of top notch model and walk at home. You need to feel graceful and not like an elephant. Try to think "Graceful". I used to love to wear heels but I stopped for many years now. I am kind of tall and my friends and bf are very uncomfortable with me wearing heels. Anyway, flats are better for me and my back.

Sheez, as a small boy, I used to clamber onto my mum's heels and remember thinking, anyone who had to resort to wearing these must be nuts. Why cant they make ladies footwear that are comfortable more fashionable then hyping on these killing heels?
