is it true that all married couples go through a period of hating one another. thats what my parents, his parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, ect say. nobody in either family has ever gotten divorced. we are talking about people who have been married 20+ or 40+ years! they all say that they went through a time when they hated each other. my husband and I have been married 7 years and right now we cant stand being around each other. if you were taught not to believe in divorce, whats next? should family traditions and religious beliefs make us unhappy until we "find love again", if we do?

Well, I read in a book that there is only one main sole reason of divorce and that is marriage
as it is written in "Why men lie and women cry" that
"100% of divorced people were married" :)
and i would recomend you reading the book i have mentioned ,maybe after it you can stand him
and by the way if you don't want to live with him ponder over the reasons and try to compromise and if you can't than get divorced and set anew examples for the upcoming generations in both families

Try Legal Separation if divorce is not an option. Because of financial and religious reasons, my parents are legally separated. They have lived that way for close to 35 years. It works for them. Maybe not for everybody.
