not all of the mlm are scam, you just have to be careful, I am doing a business in a mlm company here in the Philippines, and the business is really good. I earn a good extra money for myself.

I have not tried any MLM programs but I know enough about them to know that, like most things, you CAN make money from them but it's not as easy as the program itself makes it seem. The bottom line is, if you are not a good salesman you should stay away from any program that requires you to sell. If you are a good salesman or even an OK one, then the sky is the limit for you on the internet. Common sense says to stay away from anything on the internet that sounds too good to be true. Although it is quite possible to make thousands online, it doesn't come easy. I wouldn't say that all MLM programs are scams, you just got to do the research. See how long they've been around. Read REAL testimonies around the internet, not the ones on the site itself. There are whole groups and forums that do nothing but try these programs and report back as to whether they are legitimate, paying, and on the up and up. You have to use the tools at your disposal. Never just jump into anything, especially if it requires you to come out of your pocket.
